A Time To Die. It is the Lord who numbers our days. When it comes to the end of life we are not at liberty to choose the day or method of death. Our desire is to live honorably each and every day of our lives by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Paradoxically, those who were closest, in Jerusalem and in Bethlehem were blind to the great event taking place right at their doorstep. But the magi, of a good heart and ready mind, came to Jesus in faith, confronting all obstacles, both on the journey and of Herod’s making and bowed down to worship the Baby. Matthew 2:1-12. Celebrating the Christ of Christmas. From the beginning of time when Eve hoped one of her children might be the promised Messiah who would crush Satan’s head, until Jesus came to the earth and began fulfilling all the Messianic prophecies concerning Himself, most people missed what God was doing. But “when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son . . .” Will we, the champion Christmas celebrants and gift shoppers of all time, throw some impressive Christmas parties and give wonderful gifts and yet miss the significance of this time of year, forgetting to invite even the honored guest Himself to our festivities?
